Radon Testing

Radon is a colorless, odorless gas that cannot be detected by human senses.  It is found naturally in some soils and rocks, like granite. It is formed from the decay of naturally occurring radioactive materials such as uranium. Also, since radon is not chemically reactive with most materials, it will move freely as a gas.

The earth is the source of all radon gas in our atmosphere.  The tri-state area of TN/VA/KY is classified by the EPA as a high risk zone (there are three levels).  Excessive and prolonged radon exposure has been linked to lung cancer.  If radon levels in the basement or first floor are to high, steps can be taken to control the levels of this dangerous gas.  The first step is taking a measurement to see if there is a problem.
